let her be and include myself
i've been grappling, well, actually struggling is the more accurate word, with the relationship with a particular person for...suffice to say, all my life. so many times in the past i thought i have already taken care of it only to find myself smashed and mushed and rolled over. something is not resolved. not yet. what is it? i ask earnestly, again and again. i am not seeking approval. i am not asking someone else to tell me what i should do. been there. done that. i know the answer is within. so i turn it, turn it and turn it. this morning, three am, i am wide awake. my awareness is wide open and quiet. i hear three words. let. her. be. it feels right. then i hear a follow up question. what about me? response comes in less than a breath. include yourself in the picture. bingo. nailed it. i can see in a super fast flash that in the past i have never done that. and so, for the lack of a gentler way to put it, i became an enabler, appeaser, door mat with rage and resentment and bitterness simmering barely beneath the surface. let it go. gather all that will that i have cultivated all these years, turn it toward the power within my own self, and all the guidance i need is there. nowhere else.

meditation uninterrupted, sort of
after forty days of circumstantial chaos (actually i like the yiddish word mishegas better) i finally get to meditate a couple of hours uninterrupted. sort of. why 'sort of?' because i'm on a colon cleanse. every morning i drink two glasses of liquid before doing anything else. so midway through meditation i feel i have to pee. but then, because i am able to have bowel movement before sitting into easy-lotus posture my meditations have been so much more open, relaxed and relaxing. the physical body is just that much more spacious. so is the subtle body. it makes total sense. there's less 'shit' within, making space for grace to flow through.

to get out of bed or not?
this comes to me in meditation today. when my relationship with the inner self is tight and right, the outer life reflects it. indeed, once i know this is what i want everything in life becomes simple. there's only one question to ask. does this take me closer to the inner self? case in point. this morning i have this ancient struggle of 'to get out of bed or not?' the body and mind say, we are tired. yet there's another part of me that says, you know from experience once you get going and stay in the moment you'll be fine. the bottom line is if i get up later i won't be able to meditate. once i realize that the mind snaps awake and the body follows. sure enough once i get into the flow of preparations for meditation i feel steady and fine.
